Who is this “Podgypanda” chap? And why is he so dashing? I'm sorry to break it to you now (better late then never I suppose), but “Podgypanda” is really Richard Kuoch, in disguise (yup, I walk around in a giant panda suit to give the illusion that I actually am a panda. *sheds a tear*). Brought up in Tokoroa, a wee small Paper Mill town in New Zealand, there wasn't much around in terms of entertainment (well… apart from cow tipping. Tehehe!), I was always doodling, and entering colouring competitions, ensuring I was precise in colouring inside the lines and using the best colouring-in technique (even though it did me no good, cos I never won anything from those pesky colouring-in competitions anyway). However, due to this, the satisfaction of drawing became apart of my life ever since I was a wee sod.
Inspired by watching all those old school Disney animations from a younger age, and the prospects of making millions of dollars in animation, I decided to attend Freelance Animation school when I moved up to Auckland (that and I kinda dropped out of uni anyway. Hehe). Armed with a 3 year degree in animation, I decided to pursue a career with a goal of making millions of dollars… alas.. that was a wrong career choice to achieve that goal in.. so I decided I'd settle into the bottom rungs of the animation ladder, working as a clean up artist for the New Zealand tv series “Bro Town”. Too keep myself sane from the day to day life commercial animation brings, I like to doodle cute and happy pictures, overflowing with numerous characters in hopes to envoke happy feelings. Plus its always cool to see people go “aww!”
And besides.. I can make millions of dollars and take over the world later right? |
